Note: The following information is to be used as a guide only. Please verify all information before planning your trips, as info changes and typos occur. All information is current as of 8-1-00. Please notify the webmaster (webmaster@chec-ga.org), of any corrections, missing information you can supply or new additions that you would like added to this list.

TIP: Some of the attractions are located close enough to others, that two or three long distance places can be seen in one excursion. A few are noted. Some of the attractions have special programs each year, which should be taken into consideration when scheduling. This could mean an especially wonderful visit, or an exceptionally crowded visit. A few have specific days for homeschoolers.

Fossil Site: Plant fossils to be found include tree fern-like plants and others. Directions: From the intersection of GA 136 and GA 157 west of LaFayette, go north on GA 157 for 5.7 miles. Turn left on Durham Road and go .6 mile. There are large spoil banks on the right made up of minerals taken from coal mines nearby.
